The Skinny on Paddleboards.

Hey, water lover. I’m here to share the skinny on a few different types of stand-up paddleboards. When it comes to boards there are so many options.  I know it can be confusing when you hear different references towards them. Before you make a big investment know what you want to do with it. Then you want to ask yourself, do I have room to store it in my home and haul it around. This helps decided if an inflatable or hardboard is best for you.

Boards that OSY (Ozarks SUP Yoga) is carrying; yoga, angler, all-around, and touring boards. Each one of these boards is made for specific use. Here’s the skinny…

Lotus Board – This board was made to practice yoga on. It has incredible stability with smooth paddling. It’s 10 ft. long & width is 35’’. The capacity is 250lbs.

02 Angler Inflatable Fishing Paddle Board – Calling all anglers, this one is for you. This board has stiffness and performance. This board is 11’ long, 36’’ wide, with quadruple layer military grade PVC – woven drop stich core. The weight capacity is 400 lbs.

All-around board (Retro) – This is the perfect board for anyone who is just learning paddle boarding and not sure what they want. This board is very versatile. This board is used for: Lakes, bays, ocean swells for surfing, class 1 or 11 river rapids, and fitness classes in pools. The board is 10’6’’ long and the width is 33’’, with a weight capacity of 330 lbs.

Touring Boards (I’m so excited for this board) – This board is for experienced paddlers who want to cover long distances on flatwater. The narrow nose and tail allow the board to be fast and make quick turns. The board is 12’6’’ long and 30’’ wide. The weight capacity is 310 lbs.

I know that there are many brands and types of boards out there and it can feel overwhelming to find the right one. I GET IT. I’ve been there before and have gone through many unfit boards for me personally. I hope that you found this to be helpful and that you find the board you’re looking for because it is an investment.

P.S. Look around, ask questions, and rent a board or sign up for a class to test one out. Let me know if you have any questions.

Happy Paddling
